EDUCACIÓ Pepe Gascón Architecture
Building that is being reformed for a special education center, located on the same island as our sun.
The main access that arises is through the corner of Calle de la Riera de Pahissa and C Street, although there are two existing accesses on the street C.
The new center aims recognize the existing heritage values, understanding that part of the visual memory of the people and history of Sant Feliu, transforming, adapting and linking them to new needs. The joint between the existing building, designed and performed by a treatment area with a certain transparency, which forms a strip of sponge between the body built and designed. A longitudinal glass atrium, which in turn articulates all communications areas of the building, both horizontal and vertical.
The planned building is manifested in a triangle, a building of simple shapes and clear response to solar geometry and integration in their immediate environment, and seeking as opposed to the original building.
The new building has a large roof garden, to respond to the lack of green space that occurs with the addition of comprehensive program.
